Hi All

 

Been a while since I've had time to write..All my trips are caught up with for the time being.. Time to get my bow out, set up a stand and start scouting Fall Steelhead..Normally I would be out chasing birds but last October I lost my bird dogs to the road (M-37) and haven't replaced that part of my life with a new bird dog yet..I'm looking forward to doing more deer hunting this year instead...

 

Well we have been getting rain and cooler temps and the Salmon are just flat out everywhere getting naked on gravel. A special THANK YOU for everyone that has stayed with us so far this Fall season and I LOVED spending time on the water with all of you over the last couple months. I was just looking back and I have been on the water 45 out of  70 days for Kings and Trout. Not bad season so far...

 

I have had 3 Steelhead to the boat so far this year a 5 lb, 9 lb.and a 20 "( skipper) all have been on the lower end of the river. There are Steelhead being caught up stream as well. I haven't spent a full day out there with Steelhead gear actually trying for them yet but will be doing that this week coming up. All the fish we have caught have been while fishing for Kings. I have a feeling there are more around than one thinks if they were actually targeting and working for them all day..
